Rescuers take in emaciated shepherd, too weak to stand

Admin

An emaciated German shepherd pup has been saved from an unthinkable situation and she is recovering with a Kentucky rescue agency. The six-month-old puppy, who weighs just 18 pounds, was so weak from malnutrition that she could not even stand. The Arrow Fund shared the sad details, explaining the pup’s owner’s callous disregard for her suffering:

TRAGIC NEW CASE! EMACIATED, UNABLE TO STAND, COVERED IN FECES AND URINE! OWNERS POSTED THEY WERE GOING TO “WATCH THE DOG DIE.

But better days are ahead for this neglected dog. Two good Samaritans were able to get the pup’s prior owner’s to relinquish her and now she is safe with the rescue group. The animal welfare agency said:

The owners gave Lacuna to them and they immediately rushed her to an emergency veterinarian and her diagnosis was STARVATION – she only weighs 18lbs! Her incredible rescuers then reached out to us for help! Lacuna has a long recovery road ahead but her fosters say she is very sweet, always happy to see people and LOVES kids.

Donations to help with Lacuna’s care can be mailed to: PO Box 1127 Prospect, KY 40059. Or via donations to the Arrow Fund’s Facebook page.
