Last week, newborn puppies, just 24 hours old, were discovered amongst trash at Collingwood Auction in Farmingdale, New Jersey. Fortunately someone spotted the box and the litter of puppies made its way to the Monmouth County SPCA.
According to the animal welfare agency, some of the puppies still had their umbilical cords attached. One of the abandoned puppies did not survive. The agency said:
The puppies were presented dehydrated and lethargic so were provided with heat and tube feedings every few hours. Sadly, one puppy has passed away but as of now, the rest are stable.
