In Haulover Beach, what started out as a day of playtime for a little dog named Alfa, turned into a near drowning situation on Saturday afternoon. Miami-Dade Fire Ocean Rescue Lifeguards responded to an emergency call of a dog in distress.
According to KtvzNews, Alfa had been playing along the beach when she swallowed water and drowned. When rescuers arrived, the dog had no pulse, at which time CPR was initiated while administering oxygen. After 20 minutes, Alfa responded.
The MDFR Ocean Rescue Lifeguards continued resuscitation efforts and transported the dog to an emergency veterinarian hospital where she is expected to make a full recovery.
Many thanks to emergency rescuers.
