Las Vegas K9 officers exposed to illegal drugs treated with NARCAN

Admin

The Clark County School District in Las Vegas is relieved after two beloved K-9 officers, Ace and Peppermint, recovered after recently being exposed to illegal narcotics while on a search warrant last Wednesday. They have now returned to duty. The brave canines received immediate medical attention and were successfully treated with NARCAN,(naloxone) a medication designed to reverse opioid overdoses.

According to officials, Ace and Peppermint were assisting with a search when they encountered an unidentified substance. The canine officers exhibited signs of exposure, which can include lethargy, difficulty breathing, and seizures. Recognizing the symptoms, their handlers swiftly administered NARCAN, effectively counteracting the effects of the drugs.

the dogs tested positive for both THC and for opiods, which is what fentanyl is made of. that’s what we were really worried about, and that’s actually what was counteracted with the Narcan is the opiois inside the fentanyl.
