16-year-old dog brought tears to her rescuers’ eyes as she slept alone with no family until …

Each night when the shelter doors closed at Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, tears welled up in the staffs’ eyes at the sight of 16-year-old senior Baby Girl lying in her shelter cage all alone with no family. Senior dogs stuck at shelters seem to be the saddest.

Less than a month ago, it had been the Animal Law Enforcement Team who had rescued Baby Girl, but what kind of life was it – being in a kennel cage for any dog – most especially a senior? After all, aren’t most of us dog parents praying our senior pets live well into their teens or maybe longer? And shouldn’t each and every one of these precious pets deserve to be loved and spoiled?

Baby Girl had to have been one of the sweetest dogs rescuers had ever met. At 16-years-old, she surely had seen more than her fair share of life’s ups and downs. Yet, despite it all, her love knows no limits.

This perfect old dog dreamed of a family to shower her with affection, comfort and unconditional love. But she was old, and realistically, how many families want to take on an old dog who didn’t see or hear too well? Yes, she got to her feet, but rather slowly, yet her love for everyone she met was timeless.

Her gentle nature and easygoing demeanor make her a joy to be around, and it is impossible not to fall in love with her. She gets along with dogs, but definitely seems to prefer the calmer kind of dogs or low key dogs! We don’t have any cat information at this time.

It had been on social media that the rescue asked everyone to share Baby Girl’s story. Maybe the perfect human would read this senior’s story and melt when she saw her photo?

Well guess what? It worked! And we do know that sharing saves lives. Baby Girl was adopted just a few days ago. According to Newsweek, a woman saw her story and knew Baby Girl was the one:

Baby Girl’s new mom saw her picture, read her story and knew right away she had to come rescue her. She had just lost her own senior dog, and felt like t his was a sign to save another deserving animal in need. it was so heartwarming to see the two of them together – it was love at first sight.
