A dog with a sweet and forgiving personality is learning to navigate through life with just two legs. His name is Logan, and three weeks ago, an officer with ACCT Philly went to a residence after learning that a dog was tangled in a tether.
Pennsylvania SPCA writes of the horrible situation:
Three weeks ago, ACCT Philly went to pick up a dog that had become entangled in its tether. When they arrived at the residence, they found that the dog’s injuries were so severe that he was brought directly to the PSPCA. That’s when we met Logan.
Both of his back legs were so tightly entwined in the tether’s cord, the circulation had been cut off and they were dying.
The shelter’s veterinary staff did all that they could to save Logan’s back legs, but the damage was too extensive to overcome. The animal welfare agency said
Logan lost both of his back legs.
Despite all he has been through, Logan remains the sweetest of dogs. Though he will need a cart, he is already up and moving on his own too. He scoots around, and even walks somewhat on his front legs. He’s amazing. He’s a miracle dog.
Now the shelter that saved Logan’s life has one more wish for him – a home. PSPCA writes:
We couldn’t save Logan’s legs, but we could save his life. And that’s exactly what we did. And now we need another miracle, we need to find him a forever home.
He is ready to be discharged from the hospital, and we’d like him to head into an adoptive or foster to adopt home instead of returning to the shelter.
What you need to know
His cart and rehab at Penn is being covered by the Lichter program, so all he really needs is a family who loves him.
