Young amazing and beautiful shepherd begs for her life at California high kill shelter

Admin

Saffron (A1784652) is an amazing dog already on the list to be euthanized by the Riverside County Department of Animal Services. She is a one-and-a-half-year-old German shepherd and has been overlooked in the shelter for the last 32 days. She is very social; she does have a kennel mate, and the two get along very well.

Sadly, Saffron is living temporarily at the San Jacinto shelter where very few people come to adopt pets because of the out of the way and inconvenient location.

This gorgeous German shepherd’s plight is extremely urgent. She has been showing signs of kennel stress, and that has become an automatic death sentence for the dogs who are not lucky enough to leave by the front door – either with a rescue organization, a foster parent or to a new adopter.

According to the staff and volunteers at the shelter, Saffron weighs 71 pounds and entered the shelter as a stray on March 4. She does have a microchip, however her family never came looking for her, and even though she is beautiful with the deepest auburn/brown eyes, she can’t get a break.

she is very sweet and friendly. Saffron is easy going and well behaved. She really needs a forever home or rescue.
