In Mercedes, Texas, a senior dog languishes in an unshaded area full of trash; his tiny world is captured with an unforgiving chain and padlock. For years, he was a guard dog, and for years no one cared.
And now here this senior dog waits; his zest for live and to be someone’s close companion faded away years ago. He guards the trash, and now his owners have been advertising him for free. What will become of this tired, kid and dog friendly shepherd? He deserves better.
His advocate posted the following, bringing hundreds of animal lovers to tears.
…they are ready to get rid of him after years of usage and neglect. From this miserable life of hell. Advertising him for free. Zero takers. Who would want a used dog that has so little time left to live?

Notice the chain and padlock. Why? This sweet senior needs rescue, and what would be better than someone who cares and can give him a loving and comfortable retirement? His owners no longer want him, but we are sure someone does want him.
