A puppy is safe despite someone putting him into a crate and hurling him into a river in Michigan. According to the Jackson County Animal Shelter, the five-month-old pup, dubbed VanBuren, was rescued before the rain came.
Despite the cruelty he suffered, VanBuren has maintained a sweet demeanor. The animal welfare agency writes:
He’s a super sweet and loving boy, only 5-6 months old.
Full of wiggles and kisses, he still loves people and wants to be the best doggo ever.
The pup suffered a “nasty break” in his leg, which is being treated. The shelter is hopeful that someone will adopt VanBuren so he can recuperate in a home, with a family. The said:
We know he would heal much better in a home and there’s no reason he has to wait to be adopted! JCAS will continue the medical care for his leg post adoption.
