Monday was the best day in the life of a sweet dog named Lamb Chop when her grim future changed. She had been surrendered to the New York City Animal Care Centers, and veterinarians called out for help to an approved rescue organization. Lamb Chop had been left at the shelter; her condition was “cringeworthy” as her surrender form indicated she had broken her leg a month ago. Since then she had no veterinarian care, and who could even imagine the pain the dog must have endured.
New York City Second Chance Rescue stepped up to help. The images horrified even the most seasoned rescuers, and transportation was immediately arranged to transport Lamb Chop to the organization’s partner veterinarians.
We cannot even begin to imagine how much this tiny little girl has suffered in pain from her leg snapping in half and the abnormal healing process with the ZERO medical intervention. No one should have to suffer like this.

At this time, Lamb Chop’s leg is being assessed, and it is hoped that her leg can be saved.
