In Pasco County, Florida, a brave young nine-year-old is already a hero after she saved two kittens from being drowned by three nasty children in her neighborhood. Olivia Rippeon noticed the group of children nearby had been acting strangely.
According to Channel10News, Olivia saw the kids taking something out of the trash can and dunking the kittens in water. The three kids, aged 10 and under, had already drowned four of the kittens. Two other kittens survived because of Olivia and her mom, Sheri White, who rushed over to the neighborhood’s front office to report the disturbing situation.
When Olivia’s mom told the children to hand the kittens over to her, they were reluctant, however that didn’t stop White from taking the two surviving kittens and calling Tip My Ear TNR & Rescue who kept the kittens safe until they were then turned over to Pasco County Animal Control.
The kittens have been named Cloud and Fluff and will be available for adoption. For her bravery and speaking out to save the defenseless kittens’ lives, Tip My Ear TNR & Rescue presented Olivia with $500 reward. It is hoped other children will speak out when they encounter alleged animal cruelty. Olivia proudly became the voices for these kittens.
As for the children involved in this alleged animal cruelty situation and the drowning of four kittens, these kids no longer live in the same neighborhood and are not facing any charges. Authorities said they met with the families and gave them warnings.
Many thanks to Sheri White for raising such a compassionate and responsible young lady.
