In San Antonio, Texas, two-year-old Goldie has only been at the shelter for a few days. She is so scared that she cowers in the corner; her body tense, her eyes wide and her tail tucked tightly around her bottom. Just yesterday, she relaxed just a bit, and came forward to gently accept treats when offered, although she remained wide eyed and tense.

Goldie is thought to have arrived with two other dogs. Tux (#A717310) and Axe (#A717311).

Goldie and the other two dogs are all infested with ticks. It is not known why the effective medication to kill the ticks and make the dogs more comfortable has not been administered. No heartworm testing has been performed.

Notes indicate Goldie’s behavior might be the result of her new and stressful environment and/or medical issues.
