A shockingly obese German shepherd was taken in at a busy California animal shelter this week. The two-year-old dog weighs in at 125 pounds and he should weigh a mere 50 pounds. His weight is so high that it is believed that he is suffering from a thyroid disorder.
On Friday, the Save SBC Shelter Friends Facebook page posted a collage of images of the dog, writing:

Total love bug, everyone in love with him!
This poor dear needs our help, listed as a 2 year old male Shepherd mix .
Found as a stray on July 14 was outside a business all day in San Bernardino in 90 degree heat .
Good Samaritan gave water and food, shelter had seen by vet .
The dog is being heavily networked on social media with the hope that a reputable rescue agency will take him in and get him the care that he so desperately needs. It is reported that this dog struggles to walk because of the excess weight.
