Chloe had been one of the senior dogs surrendered to the county shelter in San Antonio, Texas. At a time when she needed her owners the most, they dumped her at the shelter; at 16-years-old.
On Friday afternoon, Grateful Hearts Senior Dog Sanctuary stepped up to help:
Welcome Chloe. Although you’re already breaking my heart. I am just so angry, sad, and happy in that order.
Chloe was unable to stand or walk when her family surrendered her to the shelter. The massive tumor reaching from her mammaries to her leg is inoperable. Perhaps if her owners had taken her to the veterinarian a few years ago when the tumor began to grow, she could have been successfully operated on and given more time to enjoy her life.
She may have had a chance years back before it grew this big. Regardless, the moral thing to do was for her owners to love and hold her and let her go compassionately…..not this. Dammit people. Where is your soul?
Sadly, Chloe will not be coming to Ohio, but she will remain in Texas with her new mom and live out her life being spoiled and loved.
