An emaciated dog, described as being “days from dying,” is getting his second chance. According to the Ashe County Animal Control in North Carolina, the dog, named Teddy, was found by animal control officers and it was clear that he was in desperate need of help.
On July 31, the animal welfare agency said:
Meet Teddy. Teddy was found by our officers hungry, frightened and within days of dying. Teddy recieved medical and we quickly knew that he needed to be in an environment where he could heal physically and mentally.
The agency reached out to Misfit Mountain Rescue – hoping that they would be in the position to take Teddy in. Fortunately, for perhaps the first time in his life, the odds were in Teddy’s favor. The animal control agency writes:
Amy, without hesitation said Yes… ABSOLUTELY we will take him asap!!!💕
We are Grateful for their quick response and to Clare Tager for making a 7 hr trip to get him there! Together we achieved a “Big Win” for Teddy as he will never suffer again and will live the life he so deserves!
Better days are ahead for Teddy – his life of neglect is now permanently in the past.
Misfit Mountain has renamed Teddy, Phish, and they are determined to turn his life around. Follow his journey at this link to the rescue group’s Facebook page.
