A badly neglected dog is receiving emergency veterinary care in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The dog, Clover Sue, was removed from a bad situation on Tuesday by law enforcement. The Cedar Valley Humane Society writes:
Late last night we were dispatched by law enforcement to assist with the removal of a dog that needed emergency medical attention and was thought to be unresponsive as it was not moving in its crate. We quickly arrived and brought this precious baby back into our care where our veterinary technician stayed with her until 2am when she finally got comfortable and sleepy after having received immediate medical attention.
Clover Sue is skeletal and her nails are badly overgrown She is so weak that she can barely stand. Amazingly, despite the pitiful life she had led, she remains friendly and accepting of human attention. The animal welfare agency writes:
Despite what went on in her former home, Clover Sue loves the staff and accepts love with open paws. Today she has gotten a bath and will get a nail trim and further medical intervention.
Clover Sue has a long road to recovery, but she is in good hands and people are working together to ensure that she is receiving all that she needs.
