Meet Malia, an 11-year-old with a big heart and a talent for sewing! While other kids her age might be glued to their phones, Malia spends her free time crafting colorful scarves for the furry residents, kitties included, to help them get adopted.
Malia has only recently taken up sewing. For Christmas, she received a gift certificate for sewing lessons, which when inspired with her love for animals and how sad it is to see them at the shelter, she thought doing something cheerful might help them find homes. She also pours her heart into her project in honor of her dog who recently died at the age of 15.
Inspired by a DIY project, Malia started creating adorable bandanas in a variety of patterns and sizes. From playful polka dots to paw-some prints, each bandana adds a touch of personality to the shelter animals. But Malia’s creations go beyond just being cute.
Malia has now started her own business. According to her Facebook page, “Sew Creative by Malia” will continue to help more animals get adopted, plus how cute would your dog or cat look in one of this young sewing artist’s creations.
Malia dedication and creativity are a shining example of how even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. With every stitch, she’s not just sewing bandanas; she’s sewing hope for a brighter future for countless shelter animals.
